2020 Ram 1500

The 2020 Ram 1500 carries forward the remarkable capability of the brand and is now available with a new turbo-diesel engine. Offered in Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited, and the specialist Rebel trim levels. You can also choose from three engines and two- or four-wheel drive. Here are four features that make the Ram 1500 a great choice of truck.

1. Exterior Features

The Ram 1500 has a dominant road presence thanks to its bold exterior styling. You have the option of the Quad Cab with a 6-foot-4-inch long bed or a Crew Cab with the long bed or a 5-foot-7-inch short bed.

Tradesman trim offers quad automatic headlights, daytime running lights, 18-inch wheels, and heated door mirrors, and a rear bumper step. Big Horn models add chrome trim, fog lamps, and alloy wheels, while Laramie features LED front and rear lights.

Longhorn trim has a chrome grille, body trim, and side steps, bi-function headlights, and LED cargo-bed lights. Limited models offer power deployable side steps. The Rebel features rugged off-road styling with red tow hooks, skid plates, black wheels and over-fenders, and unique grille, bumpers, and badging.

2. Power and Capability

The base engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 with eTorque mild hybrid technology for better fuel efficiency. It generates 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. For more power, choose the 5.7-liter V-8 engine that delivers 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The eTorque system is an option with the V-8.

The new engine on offer is an economical 3.0-liter turbo-diesel producing 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine gives you a maximum towing capacity of 12,560 pounds, while the V-8 enables you to tow a best-in-class 12,750 pounds.

3. Interior Design

Tradesman trim is designed for hard work and has practical heavy-duty vinyl seating, a 3.5-inch driver information display, keyless ignition, air conditioning, and cruise control. The media system has Bluetooth, a 5-inch touch screen, and a six-speaker audio system with auxiliary, and USB inputs. Big Horn has cloth upholstery and 60/40 split folding rear seats.

To match its rugged exterior, the Rebel features unique trim and upholstery, and a 7-inch multi-information display. Laramie gives you dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, with heated and cooled power front seats, driving seat memory, heated steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, an 8.4-inch touch screen, smartphone compatibility, and nine-speaker audio.

Longhorn models have exclusive leather seating, heated reclining rear seats, navigation, and HD and satellite radio. The luxurious Limited trim features premium leather interior, cooled and heated rear seats, wireless charging pad, and a 12-inch touch screen.

Available on higher spec models or as options are blind spot monitoring, cross-path detection, full-speed collision warning, lane keep assist, front and rear park assist with stop, and parallel and perpendicular parking assistance.
