Summer is not far away, so it is time to start planning for your next road trip. The Chrysler Pacifica is the ideal vehicle to take on your trip with its seating for up to eight, generous cargo area, multiple storage compartments, and the technology available to help keep the kids in the back busy and entertained.
Technology
Kids don’t always share the love of the scenery that passes by with their parents. but when you ride in the Pacifica, there are plenty of other options to help keep them entertained. Chrysler’s Uconnect infotainment system comes standard along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker stereo. Add the Premium Audio package for an 8.4-inch touch screen, HD radio, and two extra USB ports, and you can also get 4G LTE Wi-Fi in the vehicle. Chrysler also offers an upgraded rear entertainment system with a 10-inch seat back touch screens, a household power outlet, and an HDMI input.
Safety
Safety is always important, but it’s essential when you have the whole family in the vehicle. The Pacifica comes standard with a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Additional advanced safety systems are available as options including adaptive cruise control, automated parking, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, Chrysler’s lane departure warning and a lane-keep assist system, and a top-down 360-degree camera. Automatic high beams are also available, and you can also get front parking sensors.
Cabin Space
Everyone has plenty of room in the Pacifica. Seating is for seven in the standard configuration with room for eight available if you add the second-row middle seat. In the back, there are 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, and this can open up to over 140 cubic feet if you need it. The Stow ‘n Go seats fold down into the floor to open up the cargo area, and when the seats are up, this space under the floor makes a great storage area. There are four sets of LATCH car-seat connectors for trips with small children.
The driver can stay comfortable with the eight-way power adjustable seat that includes four-way lumbar adjustment, and the rear seat passengers can block out the harsh sun rays with the retractable sunshades.
Power
The Pacifica Hybrid is perfect for a road trip. Not only does this have all the features of the regular Pacifica, but the plug-in hybrid system can get up to 33 miles on pure electric power. It has a combined rating of 84 MPGe, and it can get 32 mpg on gas only. The Pacifica Hybrid is more fuel-efficient than any other minivan on the market. The regular Pacifica comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 and a 9-speed automatic transmission and will get up to 28 mpg on the highway.
