2021 Jeep Compass

The Jeep Compass is a four-door compact crossover SUV that strikes a good balance between comfort, convenience, and utility. It’s also loaded with safety features and modern technology. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, keep these three reasons to buy the 2021 Compass in mind.

1. Utility With a Focus on Convenience

Even though it’s a compact model, the Compass has plenty of utility. The vehicle is known for its roomy back seat, and it offers 27.2 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear row. If you include the second row, you get 59.8 cubic feet of cargo volume.

The Compass has an available power liftgate, enabling one-touch control with your key fob. Plus, with a 2,000-pound towing capacity, the Compass is a capable choice for anyone who plans to take their compact SUV on a camping trip.

2. The Right Balance Between City and Off-Road Driving

The Jeep Compass is a solid choice for drivers who will be spending most of their time on paved roads. However, the Compass has no problem getting dirty. The vehicle is available in five trims, with the Trailhawk delivering the most capability in terms of off-road driving.

All Compass builds, except for the Trailhawk, can be constructed with all-wheel or four-wheel drive. The Trailhawk is only available as a four-wheel drive, and it’s the only version of this vehicle that comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. All other builds have a six-speed transmission.

Other features of the Trailhawk that make it more off-road capable than other Compass models include:

  • Simulated low-range gearing.
  • Crawl mode.
  • An upgraded suspension system (Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 System) better suited for off-road driving.
  • Higher ground clearance (205 millimeters compared to 178 millimeters on other versions).
  • Hill descent control.
  • Skid plates.
  • Front and rear tow hooks.
  • 17-inch all-terrain tires.
  • All-season rubber mats.
  • An optional Class III receiver hitch.

3. Exciting Tech and Safety Features

The Compass comes with an available 8.4-inch touch screen with Uconnect technology, an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The Compass also has impressive smartphone-integrated features. Using the Uconnect app, you can start the vehicle remotely, find where you parked the SUV, transfer directions to the console’s touch screen, and make emergency calls. You can add optional tech and entertainment features, such as an Alpine nine-speaker audio upgrade, to any version of the Compass.

The Trailhawk trim is also the best choice for drivers who want a Compass loaded with tech and safety features. This configuration comes standard with:

  • Full-speed forward collision warning with active braking.
  • Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic assist.
  • Adaptive cruise control.
  • Lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assistance.
  • Rear parking sensors.
  • Automatic emergency braking.
  • Rain-sensing wipers.
  • Automatic high beams.
  • Self-dimming rearview mirror.
