2019 Chrysler Pacifica

If you’re interested in getting a vehicle that has space for everyone in your family, you might be trying to decide between a new Chrysler Pacifica or an older Chrysler Town & Country. If you’re not sure which vehicle is right for you, this helpful guide will compare and contrast the features found on both vehicles to help you decide.

Exterior Conveniences

Since Chrysler retired the Town & Country in 2016 to make room for the Pacifica, you’ll discover several differences between the two vehicles. For example, projector headlights are a standard feature on the Town & Country, while the 2019 Pacifica is available with front and rear LED lights. For convenience, the Pacifica also comes standard with heated side mirrors and is available with automatic headlights, hands-free power liftgate and sliding doors, and a tri-pane panoramic sunroof.

Interior Space

Inside both the Chrysler Town & Country and Pacifica you’ll find a spacious vehicle that has room for everyone in your family. The Town & Country can seat seven people and the Pacifica offers standard seating for seven and maximum seating for up to eight people. Both vehicles also feature Chrysler’s Stow ‘n Go seating. With this innovative design, you can easily fold the second- or third-row seats into the floor to open up plenty of space for hauling large items.

Technology

Although the Chrysler Town & Country and Chrysler Pacifica both have infotainment systems, you’ll discover some key differences between the two of them. The Town & Country comes with a 6.5-inch touch-screen display and the Pacifica comes standard with 7-inch touch-screen display and available with an 8.4-inch touch-screen display. The infotainment system on the Pacifica also includes Apple CarPlay support, Android Auto integration, and hands-free calling using Bluetooth connectivity. For your backseat passengers, the Pacifica is available with a rear seat entertainment system that includes 10.1-inch video screens and a DVD player.

Safety Features

Numerous advancements in safety have been made since Chrysler stopped making the Town & Country in 2016. So, it’s easy to see why the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica has more safety features than the Town & Country. In fact, the Pacifica comes standard with a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross path detection, and ParkSense with rear park assist. The Town & Country comes standard with a rearview camera, but these other safety features are only available on higher trim levels.

Performance

Even though the Chrysler Town & Country and Chrysler Pacifica both come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, you’ll discover some difference in power between the two vehicles. The engine in the Town & Country works with a six-speed automatic transmission to produce 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine in the Pacifica combines with a nine-speed automatic transmission to generate 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque.

Now that you understand the similarities and differences between the Chrysler Town & Country and the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica, you should have an easier time deciding which vehicle will perfectly suit your needs.
