2020 Dodge Journey
The Dodge Journey is a seven-passenger crossover SUV designed with families in mind. It has a cabin that is easy to configure for either passengers or cargo and a user-friendly infotainment system. Changes for the 2020 model include a reduction in the number of trim levels available, and the addition of rear park assist as a standard feature. Dodge also removed the V-6 engine as an option, and all models now come only with front-wheel drive. Here are some more details for the 2020 Dodge Journey.
Trim Levels
The entry-level Journey is now the SE Value. It comes with 17-inch wheels, Dodge's crosshair grille, and a choice between seven different colors. The Crossroad is the other available model. It has 19-inch black wheels, a suspension tuned for touring, and body-colored mirrors. It also adds fog lights, LED taillights, and a power sunroof. The Blacktop Package for the SE Value adds a black grille and black wheels. Dodge makes their ring of fire LED taillights available for the Journey along with black headlight bezels if you want to add to the exterior look.
Engine
Power for both Journey models now comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 172 horsepower. It works with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The Journey is a comfortable SUV to take a ride in, and this is made even more comfortable with the touring-tuned suspension in the Crossroad. The EPA gives the Journey a rating of 19 miles per gallon in the city, and it can get up to 25 mpg on the highway. Passengers will appreciate the composed ride on curvy roads, and this is one of the few 2020 vehicles that still have a hydraulic power-assist steering system so that the driver will feel confident behind the wheel.
Interior
The three rows of seats in the Journey have room for up to seven passengers. This SUV has one of the most practical cabins in its class with lots of cubbies for storing items no matter what row you sit in. The third row has a 50/50 split, and the second row has a 60/40 split. This makes it easy to customize the amount of cargo and passenger space. Cloth seats come standard in the SE Value with leather added in the Crossroad along with three-zone automatic climate control, and you also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Standard technology in the SE Value trim includes a 4.3-inch touch screen and a 6-speaker stereo. The Crossroad upgrades the system with an 8.4-inch touch screen. Add the Popular Equipment Group for navigation and an upgraded navigation system. A rear-seat entertainment system is also available for the Crossroad and comes with a 9-inch overhead video screen and wireless headphones.
Safety Features
Both of the Journey models come standard with a rearview camera and a trailer sway control system that works with the electronic stability control. This system will apply brake pressure when needed and adjust the engine throttle to help keep a trailer from swaying. The Journey also comes with electronic roll mitigation to help prevent wheel lift and reduce the possibility of having a rollover occur.
