2021 Jeep Gladiator
If you're in the market for a midsize pickup truck, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator is in a league of its own. It combines the hauling capabilities of a truck with the awesome off-road performance of the Wrangler. With its removable doors and roof and fold-down windshield, the Gladiator enables you to enjoy fun, wind-in-the-hair motoring.
Trim Levels
The 2021 Jeep Gladiator is offered in Sport, Sport S, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave trim levels, along with several limited-edition models with unique styling details. It comes standard with a five-seat crew cab and 5-foot box. Sport models feature signature round headlamps, fog lamps, 17-inch wheels, a black soft top, LED box lights, and a damped tailgate.
The Sport S trim adds aluminum wheels and heated power mirrors, while going with the Overland gets you daytime running lights, body-colored fender flares, 18-inch wheels, and side steps. Rubicon models offer extra off-road capability with increased ground clearance, underbody protection, rock rails, and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. The Mojave trim gets model-specific badging and a vented performance hood.
Engine
Under the Gladiator's hood is a potent 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Power is transferred to the four-wheel-drive system by a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 8-speed automatic. All but the Mojave trim offer the option of a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine that cranks out 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
When you've got a lot of gear to haul, the Gladiator gives you a payload of up to 1,700 pounds. Opting for the available Max Tow Package gets you a maximum towing capacity of 7,650 pounds.
All Gladiator trims offer Jeep's legendary off-road capability. But the Rubicon steps it up with Fox shock absorbers, a 4.10 rear axle ratio, an electronically disconnecting front stabilizer bar, and locking front and rear differentials.
With its hard-earned Desert Rated badge, the Mojave is designed for high-performance off-roading. It has a reinforced frame, lifted front suspension, a specially tuned transfer case, and Fox internal bypass shock absorbers with hydraulic jounce bumpers.
Interior
In the practical cab of the Sport trim, you'll find push-button start, cloth seats, air conditioning, cruise control, and a tilting-and-telescoping steering column. The multimedia system offers a media hub, Bluetooth, voice recognition, a 5-inch touch screen, and an eight-speaker audio system.
Go with the Sport S for power door locks and windows. The Overland adds a leather-trimmed steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch multi-information display, LED ambient lighting, a 115-volt power outlet, smartphone capability, and a 7-inch touch screen. Rubicon and Mojave models each get individual upholstery and features to complement their rugged exteriors.
Safety Features
Helping to keep you on track are standard electronic stability control, anti-roll control, ABS and driveline traction control, hill start assist, and a four-wheel anti-lock braking system with a hydraulic assist brake booster. You also get a rearview camera and a tire pressure monitoring system.
For higher-spec trims, standard and available features include adaptive cruise control with stop, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic warning, and rear parking sensors.
