2020 Dodge Charger
American muscle cars are iconic parts of the country's auto industry. With virtually unrivaled power coupled with a unique style, it's easy to see why these muscle vehicles are so popular. The new 2020 Dodge Charger is an excellent example of everything these vehicles can offer. Learn more about the new Charger, and discover whether it has the features you're looking for.
Trim Levels
There are six trim levels for the Charger, with the differences mostly focused on engine power and performance. One essential exterior factor comes into play once you get to the SRT and Scat Pack trims, however, and that's the Widebody design. When you opt for a Widebody, you can enjoy a new design for the entire exterior that includes a new front, side sills, spoiler, and even badges. As the name suggests, the Widebody also makes the Charger generally wider overall, which in itself creates a more imposing appearance.
Engine
Muscle cars are known for their power, and the new Charger doesn't disappoint. There are four engine options, and even the base level 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 offers 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. That already puts you ahead of most other vehicles on the road, but the next-level 5.7-liter V-8 pushes it further with 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. The third option is a 392 V-8 that boasts 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. If you're looking for best-in-class horsepower, you'll want the 6.2-liter V-8 that offers an incredible 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Performance is what the Charger is most widely known for. Dodge knows this as well, which is why they've created performance pages that can be accessed from the infotainment system. These pages let you see statistics about a variety of performance factors within your Charger. This vehicle also boasts the eight-speed class-exclusive TorqueFlite automatic transmission. If you prefer manual control, just turn on Sport Mode and shift using the wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Interior
Inside the Charger, you'll find plenty of space for comfort, especially if you opt for a Widebody model. The interior is sleek and sharp and is designed to complement the array of features like the driver information digital cluster display. This 7-inch screen is located on the instrumentation panel and is completely customizable. The infotainment system is powered by Uconnect, and it can be equipped with a navigation feature and remote control from your smartphone that lets you access functions like the door locks and the engine start.
Safety Features`
The Charger may have a lot of power, but it's easy to keep it under control with the many safety features. You'll find a wide array of driver assistance features such as forward collision warning with automatic braking. With this system, you'll be alerted of an imminent collision ahead, and the Charger can even apply the brakes for you should you fail to apply them in time. There's even a ready alert braking system that will help apply brake pressure should they detect you releasing the accelerator quickly in a panicked fashion.
